How impossibly big is the universe.
The unthinkable numbers,
the distance between stars,
the multitude of galaxies,
the epic sea of black that
seems to go on forever.

Yet, how small is the atom.
The size of an apple….
compared to the earth.
So unbelievable, yet real
and invisible.

And there is man, standing
in between. Feeling so small
and helpless against the vastness
of the universe – and so giant
and large with our stomping feet
compared to the tiny atom.

In this knowing we are joyous.
Small against the universe,
yet a universe to the atoms.
Our place in the world so
beautifully balanced, so
perfectly extraordinary.
